Real questions parents ask

Frequently Asked.

Do I have to teach?

No. Your kid does the class with a professional teacher while you settle into the family work area on-site. You stay in charge of your homeschool. We're the room with the messy, hands-on, harder-to-do-at-home classes your kids will look forward to all week.

What if my child is ahead or behind?

We group kids by where they actually are, not by grade on paper. A child who finds the material easy gets a more challenging version of the same work. A child who needs more time gets a teacher who sees them and meets them where they are. No child gets labeled.

What ages do you serve?

Pre-K through Grade 12. Kindergarten classes are for ages 5 to 6, then Elementary, Middle School, and High School classes on up. You pick the classes that fit the child in front of you.

How do I know when a class meets?

Every class runs once a week at a set day and time. You'll see the exact day and time on each class card when you enroll, and the full week is laid out on the schedule page so you can plan your family's day.

Is there a discount for more than one class?

Yes, and it's based on how many classes your whole family takes, not how many kids you have. Add up every class across all your children. 1 to 2 classes is full price. 3 to 4 classes takes 5% off your whole order. 5 or more classes takes 10% off your whole order.

Do I need to buy class supplies?

No. Supplies are included for Fall 2026. Your child shows up and everything they need for class is already there.

What happens if a class doesn't run?

Every class needs a small minimum to run (5 students for Pre-K through 3rd grade, 6 for older grades). If we don't hit it, you get a full refund or a credit. No fees, no hassle.

What if we need to withdraw from a class?

Plans change. If you withdraw before your child's first class, you get a full refund minus a $25 withdrawal fee per class. Once a class has met, tuition isn't refundable, but reach out if you're in a hard spot and we'll try to work out a credit toward another class.

What happens after I enroll?

You'll get a confirmation email right away with your classes and their days and times. Classes begin the week of September 14. And once the term is underway, your child's teacher emails you a weekly note on what they did in class.

Where are you located?

In the Greater Manassas area. The exact address is shared after you register, while we finalize the lease as registration grows. We serve Manassas, Manassas Park, Gainesville, Bristow, Haymarket, Woodbridge, Lake Ridge, Dale City, Dumfries, Lorton, Triangle, Quantico, and northern Stafford.

Is this a religious program?

No, we're secular, and every family is welcome here no matter your faith or background. We're not tied to any religion and we don't teach one. What we do hold to is a simple set of values any family can stand behind: kindness, honesty, respect, and treating each other well. The classroom stays focused on learning, and open to everyone.

Photos

Photos at Hexagon.

We love capturing what a great class looks like. A kid lighting up over an experiment, a project coming together, the moment a room full of focused little faces gets something for the first time. We take photos and short videos in class, and we use them to show families what we do, here on our website and on our social media.

It's part of being in the community. The pictures of real kids learning here are how a new family down the road gets to see what we're about before they ever walk in. When we share a photo, we keep it kind and we keep it simple. We use a first name and a last initial at most, never a full name next to a child's face, and we never sell anyone's photo.

Down the road you'll be able to share your own class photos with us too, for a gallery on the site. We look at every photo before it goes up, so nothing is published without us checking it first. If anything about photos ever worries you, talk to Maryam.
